Festival Cabbage

1 pound of ground sausage (hot or mild to your taste)
1 large head of cabbage
1 onion
1 Tablespoon of salt (or to taste)
1/2 cup water

-Cut onion into eighths
-Brown sausage and onion, in a pot large enough to hold all
ingredients, and drain when done. -Remove the dark green outer leaves, then cut cabbage into eighths
and add to top of sausage. Do not mix with sausage yet. -Add water and salt. -Cook on low/medium heat, with pot covered, for at least 30 minutes
until cabbage is done. -Mix ingredients well and serve hot. This is a good meal with corn bread, fresh sliced tomatoes, and
plenty of iced tea.
